Christian Louboutin Leather and Python Colorblock Platform Sandals: Ten Things I Love About You

Categories:Christian Louboutin

It’s like Christian Louboutin took my favorite elements from his more wearable shoes (as in, not his super-tapered, sparkly stilettos) and ingeniously shook them all together. The outcome? A sandal that is totally sick! You’ve got a stacked platform, neutral colorblocking, sexy, crisscrossing ankle-strap, and a white python heel for a refreshing surprise when you walk away. And of course, the red sole, which reaches maximum prominence thanks to a thicker heel.

I can’t drive a car with that snowy python heel, but I can deal with that. Hey, for a hot date night, I’m not driving anyway! But I won’t be saving it just for those occasions. You might think something this spicy needs to wait for the nighttime, but I disagree completely. The tan-and-white color scheme is enough to make these 24-hour shoes –this palette is made to go with your entire summer wardrobe.

Pair with: Fool around with this color combination, and carry one of Prada’s latest sensations. The Flame clutch, in black leather with a spicy burst of decoration, makes for a cool pairing.

Kim Kardashian Goes to Lunch in Jimmy Choo Sandals

Categories:Designer Shoes

Kim Kardashian was recently spotted going to lunch in LA and doing a little shopping at Fred Segal in a pair of Jimmy Choo Kalmar Rope Sandals that are an exact color match for her dress. This style is no longer available, but you can shop all of JC’s current seasonal styles at the Jimmy Choo website, naturally.

Jimmy Choo shoes are probably just as popular with celebs as they ever were, but strangely enough, we rarely see them on the feet of Kim Kardashian. Stretchy, form-fitting dresses that cut off mid-calf, however, are Kim’s go-to look when she’s pregnant. She’s only a few months along, but she clearly does not mind showing off that baby bump, or pregnancy’s myriad other gifts.

Here’s Kate Winslet, walking the red carpet at the UK film premiere of A Little Chaos in a figure-flattering Stella McCartney dress and a pair of Christian Louboutin Athena Alta Sandals. This leopard-print Louboutin style is a couple of seasons old and no longer available online, but you can shop a broad selection of Louboutin heels

A Little Chaos is a period piece in which Kate plays the landscape designer tasked with creating the gardens of Versailles. The film pairs Kate with her old Sense and Sensibility costar Alan Rickman, who plays King Louis XIV, and who also directed the film. A Little Chaos hits UK theaters this Friday, and will make its debut in the US later this summer on June 26th.

Chloé May Be On a Hot Streak

Eliza Leather and Suede Wedge Sandals

The Scalloped Flats and the Susanna Boot are Chloé‘s claim to footwear fame. We even have a whole thread over on our PurseForum dedicated our members’ admiration for the brand’s infamous studded boots. Over on PurseBlog, we’ve discussed how well the brand’s bag business has been doing lately, and it may even make the next “it” bag. With that said, can the same true for the brand’s footwear?

As of late, I haven’t seen anything particularly intriguing from the brand on the runway. I’ll admit, Chloé shoes are never at the forefront of my mind, and mainly that’s because the shoes I do see from the brand are similar from season to season. The shoes are mostly extensions of the brand’s successful staples, and while this seems like a normal and logical business practice, Chloé hasn’t debuted anything new that has been particularly buzz-worthy. After picking Chloé Fringe Sandals in last week’s Want it Wednesday, I decided to investigate what other shoes the brand has available; I was surprised by what I saw.

The spring and summer shoes available now from Chloé follow many dominant footwear trendshappening, like fringe, mules and lace-up styles. There’s more variation and new designs that feel fresh. These shoes don’t feel like your typical Chloés, and that’s just what the brand needs. This collection may not have the next “it” shoe at the moment, but I’m hopeful that will change very soon.

Something’s Missing From These Alexander Wang Sandals

Categories:Designer Shoes

Alexander Wang Caterina Runway Sport Sandal

You’re not seeing things. The middle support of the shoe is exactly what’s missing from Alexander Wang’s Spring 2015 sandals. Wang knows how to push the envelope with his innovative designs, but this makes me question the structure of the shoe.

Wang’s Spring collection debuted during New York Fashion Week, and when I first saw these heels, I was intrigued. While I’m still intrigued, I’m more concerned with the structural integrity of this shoe. Even the highest heels I own, like my pair of Louboutin So Kate pumps, have some sort of support in the middle of the shoe. By taking this away, will my foot sag in the middle? Will I have more bounce to my step without any middle support?

The overall aesthetic features mesh uppers and and an all-black design that definitely fits in with Wang’s cool, sporty brand. I’ve always been a Wang fan, but I think I need to get my foot into a pair of these first before I can comment on whether I love ‘em or hate ‘em. Tell us what you think in the comments.
